BASIC TRADE SKILLS PROGRAMME

We aim to get you through all projects by the end of the term. This is subject to members capabilities and progression through the projects.

These projects are designed to build confidence using the tools and they start off simple and progress in difficulty throughout the year.

The last 3 weeks of each term, members can start their own DIY project or up cycle something from home. The Shed Manager or Supervisor needs to approve this and will guide you through a plan for the project.

Safety Operational Information Manual (SOI)

At the beginning of the year, everyone will be given a copy of this manual for all of the heavy machinery and electrical equipment being used at the Sheds. There will be allocated times at every session where you will be shown, trained and assessed not necessarily all in the one session. Once you've successfully completed your manual and assessment you'll be given a certificate.

Back To Basics

Learn how to get the most out of our hand tools. How to use them correctly and look after them. You'll have the opportunity to make small wooden projects using the tools you've just learnt about.

Health & Safety Procedures and Shed Maintenance

This will be ongoing.
